The Shah made a speech at Aryamehr Stadium [what is now called "Azadi Stadium" or "ورزشگاه آزادی"] on Women's Day; I think it's from 1971. Most notable is his reference to the "Unholy alliance of Black and Red," reffering to the seemingly shared aims of the hard-line conservatives and communists in Iran.

I get why he would criticize the religious conservatives for their lack of respect for women, but how do the communists come in? Leave a comment if you know.
I posted this video on youtube a while ago. As of today 4/22/2008, it's had 25,061 views.

Reza-jAn,
Please see these links for an "introduction" to the Shah's reference of leftists in what he refered to as an "unholy alliance of red and black" (leftists and islamists).
You also need to understand the political dynamics of the time with the Soviet Union bordering our country's northern border and constant interference in Iranian affaires through supporting leftist/communist/marxist/maoist.. insurgents inside the country. The communists managed to establish two very short-lived soviet puppet republics in the provinces of Kurdistan and Azerbaijan before they were swiftly liberated by Iranian forces.
For now you can look at these articles that i've posted on leftists in Iran pre-1979:
